Anyone with a couple of bank accounts, a pension, some crypto and a mortgage has no idea what they are actually worth. Bank apps show fragments, and spreadsheets answer today's question but lose the history — which is the only part that tells you whether things are improving.
I built it around immutable monthly snapshots instead of live balances. Each account or asset gets a value entry per period, so the history is never overwritten and the trend is always computable. Multi-currency positions are converted at the rate of their own snapshot date rather than today's, which keeps historical charts truthful. Liabilities are modelled as first-class entries so the headline figure is real net worth, not a total of assets.
One screen answers the only question that matters: is this going up, and because of what. Because the data model is snapshot-based, adding a new account never distorts the past.
